Lonely Pussy/Meteorology Anyone?

Lonely Pussy
Methinks Qetesh is suffering from loneliness today, after having had the children home on holidays all last week. After being home all day alone there was quite a performance when I arrived home from work - yowling, running full belt around the house, tail all puffed up. Poor thing, she really likes her people and much preferred it when I worked from home.

Autumn
Fej asked whether we have much of a winter here in Perth. I'm not sure you'd consider it a real winter Fej as it doesn't snow here in Perth, and very seldom in Western Australia at all.

Today the range was from 48 farenheit at about 6.30 this morning and the max was about 77 farenheit. A cloudy morning turned into a beautiful sunny afternoon. The average max over the three months of autumn is about 68 farenheit, so we're still enjoying the last of the warmer weather right now (it's forecast for 84 tomorrow).

Average maximum for winter is about 57 farenheit, not sure about the average minimum, it does go below 40 farenheit but not too often. I don't remember the last time is got as low as 32 (0 Celcius), but we'll get the occassional 1 - 4 (33-39) degree minimum.

When summer means 95-105 degrees is expected to blast our skins fairly regularly, our winter feels bloody cold.

It will get cloudy, windy and wet (most rain falls between May and August)- though we never seem to get 'enough' rain the last few years (and thus have water restrictions, can only water the garden with sprinklers two days of the week in summer - better than some other states fare where they aren't allowed to water the garden at all).

I guess I could have saved you all that reading by saying we have hot dry summers, and cold wet winters (but no snow).

And so endeth the meteoroligical lesson.
