There's Something Smelly in My Kitchen

I've never realised how strongly scented jonquils are - until today.

Yesterday I took the rather sad-looking herb pot from the kitchen outside for a much needed visit to the sunshine. I replaced it with a pot of jonquils that have been flowering for a few weeks now. There's a mixture of cream ones and yellow ones in the pot.

When I walked into the kitchen tonight after work I could smell them from the door, and they are at the opposite end of the room!

I guess I've never noticed it before 'cos they're usually growing in the garden, or in a pot outside; I can't recall ever having even a bunch of them in a vase.

The scent reminds me of a perfume, but I can't think of it's name.

Back to the Grind
Back to getting up before dark-time has finished, but with the winter solstice well and truly passed it wasn't quite dark-time when I got home. Poor puss got closed in my wardrobe again today (it's about the 3rd time); thank goodness she has good bladder and bowel control!

Whenever there are jonquils in the room, I always check the bottom of the kids/my shoes.....
